What happens when the color change will not work, how to fix it.
Most Common Causes: Hoop might have been hit
Tools:3 mm Allen wrench with at least a 6-inch shaft. A T-Handle metric wrench is sug- gested, but not included in the machine’s tool kit.
Reasons and Solutions
If your machine is not changing colors correctly, more than likely hitting a hoop during the sewing process caused it. Typically, you will either need to adjust the take up levers or replace a damaged reciprocator. Follow the steps below to diagnose your problem:
* Turn the Timing Wheel to 100°; are any of the Take Up Levers uneven? Look at the picture below and you will notice that the last Take Up Lever is not even with the rest. If this is the case, then you will need to reset the take up driver.

* If the Take Up Levers are even when the Timing Wheel is at 100°, and the needles do not move when you rotate the Timing Wheel (at least 2 rotations), then you have a damaged Reciprocator. Please refer to the replacing reciprocator documents for your specific machines: Compact, Standard, or Multi-Head.
Resetting the Take Up Driver
In order to adjust the Take Up Driver, there is only one screw that needs to be adjusted. However, this hex (allen) screw is somewhat difficult to see, therefore you will need to follow the instructions below to do this.
1. Place the machine at the first or last needle.
2. From the side of the Needle Case, you should be able to see the hex screw at an angle. You will not be able to adjust the screw from this angle, but this is to simply to identify what you will be adjusting in the next step.

3.Insert the 3mm Allen Wrench through the top of the lever opening closest to the screw (either the first or last one depending on which direction you initially set the machine).

4.Once you have located the screw, you will need to loosen it slightly. You want the screw to still be a little snug.
5. Next, you will need to adjust the Take Up Driver by mechanically changing the needles. So, if you initially set the machine at needle 1, change the needle location to 6, 12, or 15, and then back to 1. This procedure allows for the Take Up Lever to self-adjust.
6. Once you have done this, you now need to tighten the hex screw. Follow the same procedure as in step 3.
7. Now, your levers should be even.
